Coming up rescheduled for Saturday June 22nd will be the 6th Annual Olson Paint & Body Wheelstand Contest. Click on the picture at right for a full page .pdf flyer. Several of the name players are committed to attending this years event including last years champion, Ricky Kirkpatrick, and past champion Jason Shubert. First round of the wheelstand competition is scheduled to commence at 7 pm. A full race program is scheduled with Super Pro, Pro, Sportsman and Jr. Dragsters. We will start the program with Jr. time runs at 2:30, and bracket cars, starting with Pro, at 3:30. Round 1 of competition, starting with Pro will be at 6 pm.
This Saturday Night, A Triple Bill Three for the price of one measly $15 ticket. Not only are we having the 6th Annual Olson Paint & Body Wheelstand contest on the track, first wheelstand competition round at 7pm, we are doing a double bill at OutPost. Einsteins Attic will be opening for Sucker Punch Annie. The rips get under way at 9:30 with EA doing some acoustical renderings, then about 11:30 SPA takes the stage for the main event.

NHRA ESPN “Stat Guy” to attend JEGS NHRA Super Quick at Bunker Hill
Lewis Bloom “Stat Guy” on ESPN’s coverage of the NHRA Mello Yello Drag Racing Series will be making a visit to Bunker Hill Dragstrip, August 10 to cover the JEGS NHRA Super Quick Series and the track. NHRA Division Director Jay Hullinger made the announcement during the track’s racer party held Saturday night in the new restaurant, The Outpost, built at the track. Bloom got his start announcing a number of years ago at Old Bridge Township Raceway Park near his home in New Jersey. Prior to working with ESPN he announced at a number of tracks and events throughout the east coast and on a part time basis at NHRA national events beginning in 1993. He started working with ESPN on the NHRA shows in 2001. ESPN videographer Mike Panek will be filming the Sportsman Spotlight segment with Bloom to be aired on one of the NHRA Lucas Oil Drag Racing Series shows. In addition, Bloom will be writing an article on his visit for National DRAGSTER. The JEGS NHRA Super Quick Series celebrates its 25th Silver Anniversary Season with the 8th stop of the 11-race 2013 series to be included on Saturday as part of Bunker Hill’s Summer Sizzle Twin $25’s event, August 10 and 11. Along with his passion for drag racing and compiling statistical data, Bloom is an avid photographer and does some of the still shots for the NHRA ESPN show. -NHRA Div.3-
